Bucktown Area Pipe Burst
Faucet leaks
In the early winter morning, while our Bucktown Chicago customer was preparing themselves for a warm shower they noticed that the faucet had an uncontrollable leakage.

The winter in Chicago had been extremely cold that morning and temperatures dropped to negative 10 degrees. These conditions freeze a pipe, blocking water from flowing until bursting from the increase in pressure. That is exactly what happened at this Bucktown, Chicago home.
Burst faucet repair
To access the burst faucet, the wall right behind the bathroom was opened. It was clear that the pipes connecting to the faucet had burst.
Usually, we can repair shower faucets by replacing parts, unfortunately, we were unable to. The freezing ice created enough pressure to expand the brass housing of the faucet rendering it unrepairable.
Before proceeding, the water was shut off then the plumber removed and replaced the parts of the.

Chicago repair success!
Once the installation of the faucet and pipping was complete we let the faucet run for a couple of minutes. The faucet showed no more problems which meant the repair was successful.
The customer could now return to their warm shower with no interruptions.
