  • Causes discomfort or illness if ingested or exposed to the skin
  • Sources: dishwasher or washing machine overflows, toilet overflows with urine (no feces), and sump pump failures

Category 3

Black Water

  • Most dangerous and contaminated
  • Can cause severe illness or death if ingested or exposed to the skin
  • Sources: sewage backups, flooding from rivers or seawater, toilet overflows containing feces

Failed Ejector Pump Needs Immediate Mitigation

We received a call indicating that a customer had a failed ejector pump and needed our services. Our team headed to Horner Park for an initial inspection and found sewage around the washer, dryer, and in the utility room where the pump was located. The customer’s prompt action and our swift response were crucial in mitigating the damage and addressing the problem efficiently.

Due to the presence of the sewage, the customer was very distressed. The Rescue Plumbing team was efficient and began cleaning and setting up containments immediately.

Mold Remediation and Drywall Flood-Cuts to Prevent Further Damage

Mold remediation is a critical component of the restoration process. This includes removing baseboards and doing flood-cuts. Flood-cuts remove about 12-18 inches of the drywall to eliminate mold growth. This also helps prevent future health risks and structural damage.

To prevent any further damage, our experienced team set up equipment including; air scrubbers, fans, and dehumidifiers. This helped to air out the place and accelerated the entire process.
